No worries. We are actually using similar plastics to what we’ve always used and these bottles will have the exact same shelf life as you would expect from any hair care product. However, we have engineered the use of a special additive to the plastic, which attracts microbes in landfills to actually eat and digest the plastic. Since these microbes don’t exist in a salon environment, at least we hope they don’t, the breakdown of the bottles doesn’t begin until they’re placed in a landfill. Furthermore, the bottles don’t just breakdown. Because they are being consumed and digested by these microbes, the bi-product of this microbial digestion is methanol gas. This gas can be trapped at the landfill and converted to energy and sent to the power grid.

Absolutely. We are very conscious of the need to responsibly harvest all ingredients. In fact, Pravana and our partners in Brazil have purchased land that was previously deforested and stripped of all vegetation and we have successfully planted 25,000 endangered trees on this land in an effort to replenish this area.
